This is a common misconception that after eating mahua flowers bears, animals get effect like drunken. But when these flowers directly eat by anyone start digesting and no alcoholic effect happen. We eat rice, wheat and other grains, from which liquor made. Alcohol only produce after any grains or mahua flowers after furmatation and distillation..

Yes, I too just gave the info.
In mahua flowers season at my place which is around Tadoba TR, Chandrapur dist, Mah,so many attacks by bear happen due to both Bear & humans want this juicy flowers. Just 3-4 yrs back a female bear killed 3 persons & injured more 3 in such a attack..

Mid-March to mid-April is the  harvesting season for these flowers, as per the article in the link.

March to April is season for Mahua flowers. To get more flowers, which drops in night, tribal & villagers go there in early morning when still dark & so they can't see black color bear which cause so many attacks. Even tiger attacks on humans are on rise in these days, as tiger come to mahua tree to hunt Deers, Pigs & other animals & found human below tree.
