I am not much into IR BW, but is it better to shoot with lesser nm and convert them to BW or shoot with something 800+nm for direct BW?

Thanks, NTR for your views. The b/w shot the way you suggested may be better but since I have only one camera converted to 720nm, I usually convert images shot with it into b/w in photoshop.
