Nishit Dave

Looks like the sun is flowing in a different pool than the sunlight.

A beautiful puzzle. Very well composed.
If only we knew how to unify the contradiction in the statements made by the two reflections, one in still and the other in flowing water.

Thanks, Nishit and t..i..n..b..
Here is the image, as it was shot, no crop no pp.

I somehow prefer the unprocessed image.

  • It avoids accentuation of the relatively ugly looking building.
  • The structures around the building aren't interesting or adding anything to the view. Neither does the variation in the foliage adding anything interesting.
  • The only thing that processing seems to have enhanced is the nature of the reflections in the running and still waters. More gritty and animated in the former, more saturated in the latter.
Nice image overall, well captured.

Looking for a Rokinon/Samyang 135 F/2 Lens in excellent condition.

Also looking for a few Canon NB-10L Batteries.

Thanks, Bharat for your considered views and appreciation.

There is no contradiction. The still pool of water is much higher.

There are very few things that stuck in my head from school physics. This is one: the angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of reflection

It's a very nice picture. I like the building in the background!

Thanks, Thad E G. The school physics principle you have stated is the basic principle of lighting in photography, you have very well explained the scenario  :)

My post was more philosophical in nature, concerning the contradiction inherent in something which remains still and flows simultaneously, like the two reflections of the sun in the image.
But I will settle for Physics over Philosophy, anytime.
