Pleiades (M45). Also called 'seven sisters', is an open star cluster in Taurus constellation. With apperant magnitude 1.4, it is at about 444 light years away from us. It is the closest Messier object to us. The oxygen rich interstellar dust clouds illuminated by the stars are moving with the speed of 17 km/seconds.

Bharat Varma

Some info about how you actually got this shot please.

These days Jupiter is highly visible, I believe.
Late night, in the East (from the Delhi area).

What kind of capture are you able to get of it with your gear?
Looking for a Rokinon/Samyang 135 F/2 Lens in excellent condition.

Also looking for a few Canon NB-10L Batteries.

Such shots are made with stacking multiple shots together to get enough data to process. In this case I have stacked 230 shots, each 30 seconds at ISO 6400. It's a long process, and beleive me, processing is the most difficult task. Attached herewith is the image same DSO with same data processed three months ago, but substantially inferior results.
I don't have any special gear, except a tracker. I am using regular full frame or crop sensor camera and my regular birding lens. This was done with A6400, a crop body.

Jupiter is visible after midnight I guess. It is interesting to shoot Jupiter with it's four moons.
With my current gear, I can shoot most of the DSOs with varying success. I may acquire the proper gear in future sometime, which will make the job much easier and better.

Gorgeous! My favourite constellation! I remember spending time looking at it with my 20x50 binoculars as a teenager, with my mind full of wonder.

I have the same camera and lens combo, so happy to see these results. Which tracker do you use? It's an academic question, as I will never find dark skies or the time needed to take all these photos and undertake this intricate task of stacking.
