manindra_m and smweb, thanks a lot for your views and comments.

@ Manindra_M, Varanasi is a paradise for visual story tellers and street photographers. If you are even remotely interested in these genres, you must plan a visit. All the best.

Lovely set. Inspite of me having Varanasi in my bucket list for quite some time now , could never make it till date. Some of the images specially 1, 3 and 4 is forcing me to plan a visit this winter.  Can be a delight for a portait , candid and street photography.

Terrific images, Roy.  It's difficult to pick a favorite one.  The dusk lighting sets off the fire images very nicely.  Great people pictures, well conceived and composed.  Thanks for sharing that beautiful piece of Indian culture.

Happy Day.

Some say those of us who love to talk about cameras should instead go and take pictures. I say we should go and also take pictures.

Thad, Vyasji, Girish, Soumen thank you all for liking the images.

@Thad, same thoughts did cross my mind too! It seems wielding those heavy lamps come from years of practice.

Superb set with perfect colours, clarity and compo, reminded me of my visit to the place  :)

Excellent set. My favourite is the boatman against that lovely sky.

(This might sound mundane, but I never thought about how much muscle those guys must need to wield those lamps! This is one of the stories your pics told me :) )
