Hi! Greetings to all forum members!
I'm planning to buy a dry cabinet to store my gear. Looking for a reliable one - also warranty claim should not be a hassle.
I've seen brands like Andbon/Photron in offline stores. Sirui ones are expensive but I'd prefer those if the reliability is better than the others. However there is no service centre for Sirui in Bangalore. Is this a dealbreaker?

Also would a 50L cabinet be able to fit a Nikon 180-600 Z lens?

I'm based in Bangalore currently, but might move to Hyderabad in a few years.
Thanks in advance!

A cabinet has very simple construction, an airtight box with a dehumidifier unit and one display that shows the RH factor and temperature. The box should never cause any problem unless suffers impact etc. The display, if goes bad can be replaced easily by ubiquitous Chinese options. If the dehumidifier unit goes bonkers then the issue becomes ugly.
My first unit that I bought from Kalabhai back in 2008 served me well since 2008-09 and the Dehumidifier unit malfunctioned only in 2023. Fortunately it was easy to take out by a few turns of screws. I sent the unit to Anish at Kannur and he got it repaired for a few hundred bucks. So you should enquire, first if the dehumidifier unit is dismantlelble and second if it is possible to repair. Then perhaps you are good.
My second one is a bigger box, made by Sirui. It is working as it should for last few years, thankfully no service is yet needed.

I have a Benro 85L dry cabinet that has been working well since around 2015. It also survived two shiftings (one of which was to another city) without trouble.

Thanks a lot for your inputs. After much deliberation & need assessment. I ended up buying a Photon 85L cabinet. Didn't go for Sirui since they don't offer service in Bangalore. Also the reviews for Photon were good online & offline.
