Was looking for a good zoom lens in the wide to medium telephoto range (i shoot mostly from 30mm (mostly videos) to 70mm (street photography) on aps-c) for my Fuji X-H1 and wanted to ask which had better optical performance both for photos and videos.
My main thoughts:
1. Tamron offers better low light (f2.8 vs f4 which is about 2 stops better in full frame terms) but suffers from contrast and purple fringing issues at f2.8. also, centre sharpness and contrast are not too good at f2.8. There's also issues with colour rendition. Would like to stay away from having to edit every jpeg i take.
2. Fuji has less fringing and better stabilisation (i've *heard* that the Tamron has jitters in video) but worse sharpness especially towards 80mm (where i need it). And of course there's the lower F-stop.

Size/weight/price are not a concern. Both are mostly similar in these 3 respects.
What are your experiences with the optical performance of the Tamron 17-70? Sony users can also chip in.
Also, if anyone knows about in camera corrections for the Tamron, that would very helpful!
