C&C, discussion welcome.

I was routinely fixing the horizon in one of my images from a recent trip when I realized that in particular case, I found the tilted horizon more appealing.

What is your take on tilted horizons? Does it work in this example? When would you say feel it would strengthen your image to leave the horizon tilted (e.g. imbalance, tension, weight, momentum, slope. flow etc.)?

(2) Fixed

In this particular case, I felt the waves rushing in from the left seemed to be in harmony with the tilt if the first image and somehow appealed to my eyes more than the second one.

Hi,
A fantastic pic, you have done justice to the subject in composition, technique and treatment. I would agree that Tilted Horizon in this case is a good choice. I have my reason for why it works, not mentioning it, to keep the post short and simple.
Specially appreciate your effort to encourage some talk about composition, hope this trend continues and this community grows beyond trading gear.

I'm sure that there are many tilted horizons that are artistically justified, just as many leaning verticals are.

In this instance, I'd say, keep it straight. My reason is simple: the sea cannot slope down towards the beach. Making it appear to do so denies the real movement of the water which is part of the subject.

Would I always insist on following such a realist dogma? Absolutely not. But in this instance I would.

That looks great ! Have you tried tilting it the other side ?

P.S - You might want to clean the sensor
