Hi,
Thanks for all the replies. I looked up on the net and was able to find the following information

1) TES1-07102 peltier module 7-8V 1.5- 2A 10 W, 23x23 mm  4.5 mm thick

This was posted on cabinet for two digicabi dry cabinets - DB - 036 , DHC - 080.  Thats 36 Liter and 80 Liter. ( Article on webs)

My cabinet is AD 120 liter

There is no lettering on my peltier.  However , the peltier dimension is same as above 23x23 mm.

 2) It appears to me that power supply is not working.  AI using meta suggested 12V - I am not sure if  that is right.

 3) The same article mentioned in point 1 lists 3.6 V, 6W .  My model is older than those models and uses a power board supply. ( It has been serviced one).  The power cord has a 5 AMP fuse and connects to AC main power.

I am wondering if 12v would be overkill and maybe 5v, 2A would be better.

Thanks and have a nice one.

 Regards
 Sanjay

Hi,
thanks all for the reply. This was first unit, with separate battery powered hygro meter.
attempted local repair. they said board change. does not cool much. RH percent 1to 2%. around 60 - 59.

Another person checked and replaced capacitor. gettin 2 to 3 mv on the output from power supply. As for 9v , I connected a 9v battery to peltier directly and it heated/ cooled within a minute. I am based in chennai

These usually run on 5V and rarely on 12v for very old models.

If your power supply is outputting "2.5 to 3.6 milli volts", the cabinet may well be underpowered. Normally replacing with a fresh power supply could have done the trick. But in your case, if you have already supplied 9V to the controller, there is risk of it having got fried.

At any rate no harm in trying a 5V replacement. They are widely used in a lot of home gadgets (in different sized pins though) - most typically DTH boxes and are really cheap.

In case you learn that the controller is fried, not much left to do except swap the whole electrical setup.

What readings is the humidity monitor giving you? The peltier ought to cut off once the desired humidity is achieved. It's "cooling" isn't meant for temperature control, just for humidity control.
Looking for a Rokinon/Samyang 135 F/2 Lens in excellent condition.

Also looking for a few Canon NB-10L Batteries.

Hi, I had bought an AD 120 L from singapore in 2008 and initially, though it had problem, they replaced the dehumidifier unit and it worked fine.
I liked the size and dimensions and its very useful.  After several years, I had run into issues with it and tried to repair it.  I also have a Sirui 110L , which got spoilt in power surge , and I store medium format.
The Digi cabi is old model and runs with smps power supply , which feeds power to a dehumidifer (thermo electric peltier) .  It cools for a short time and stops.  There is a knob housed inside a box connected to potentiometer, which controls the output to the peltier.  The peltier is 23mm x 23mm .  The knob has three zones - blue , red, green with red being highest control (lowest humidity).   I connected a 9v battery to the peltier and within 2 to 3 minutes , it became very hot on one side and cold on other side.  I checked the output on the power supply, which is source for the peltier and it is showing 2.5 to 3.6 milli volts .

I saw information on dry cabinet repairs online, but could not find the voltage to be given to peltier and wonder if this is issue. Perhaps, the voltage is too low.

Does anyone know how much voltage should be provided to the peltier?

Also, is there any reliable person in India who repairs this?  Kalabhai had repaired for me earlier.

Thanks all in advance.
