Title: Tripod suggestion for Potraits
Post by: Sandeep.e on August 28, 2023, 07:37:52 PM
Tripod suggestion for someone with shaky hands, will be using mostly for potraits  to get those sharp images.
All i can see is cheap digitek tripods or very expensive tripods.

You should be able to get a very decent aluminium tripod in the 8k to 15k rage, and a carbon fiber tripod from 15-25k. Benro, Sirui, Manfrotto, Velbon, Vanguard are some of the good brands.

What is the budget and what is the gear that will be used? I may have a suitable tripod for your friend.

Don't discount the cheap tripods. Most of them are good enough for basic stuff, and they're quite light and portable. The downside is that they usually have video heads that are difficult to align perfectly, apart from being made from flimsy plastic (flipping them for portrait orientation is not something to be tried flippantly, with expensive and heavy gear). On the flipside, they're easier to knock around and can vibrate even in slight winds if used outside.

I would suggest that you try a cheap tripod that has sufficient height first, and only buy something more expensive if it doesn't work as intended.

Asking for a tripod suggestion without specifying the gear it will support, is like asking the doctor for medicine without telling him/her what ails you. Every recommendation that you receive, is/will be based on the writer's own visualization of what that gear must be. May or may not, suit your needs.

I will be using mostly for fujifilm 50-140 f2.8 as well as with 56 f1.2 on a X-S20 body. budget 10-15k can extend little bit.

Mostly lightweight fuji lens with exception of 50-140 f2.8.
I won't be doing any landscape or wildlife but some proffesional work like small birthday functions and weddings.

I have the extra tall variant of this tripod (the VEO 2 GO 265HAB). 16.3" folded, 64.6" max height.
Bought brand new some years ago, but practically unused (other than testing it out inside my house a few times).

Load capacity is 6 kg and your maximum load is 1.5kg, so this should work well enough for your setup. It's relatively quite light too.

Please see if this works for you.
