Good afternoon! I had an unpleasant incident. My samsung 64 gb sd card from my camera is not working. There was important material on it. The card is not displayed in the camera itself. If you connect the card to a computer, the system says the card is damaged and needs to be formatted.
After a bit of googling, I realised that special programmes were needed to repair it. I even tried a few, but didn't get the desired result ....
Does anyone know how to help me?
Data recovery is normally done in two stages. Immediately on realizing that you have an issue, Software based recovery is the first thing to do.
When that does not work you need to look for hardware based recovery. I don't know exactly how it is done for SD cards but for an HDD that I needed to be recovered, they cloned my disc, platter by platter on to an identical HDD and got a 99% recovery. They have special hardware and custom-built software for it.
Search in the vicinity of where you live for such a service. Even if one such service does not exist where you live there are "agents" who will courier to and from them, charging you a fee for it.
I contacted the service in my town, but they want to rob me. So I thought maybe I could do it myself.
It's not robbery: it's skilled work.
Yes, there are programs you can try, but if you try stuff that writes to the card/disc then you are probably now double-screwed.

This is probably the best result so far. In general, I am satisfied because I was able to recover most of the material for a small amount of money.
