Markarian Chain

   Markarian's Chain is a stretch of galaxies that forms part of the Virgo Cluster. The galaxies lie along a curved line resembling a chain. Its center is about 50 million light-years distant, the Virgo Cluster itself is the nearest galaxy cluster.
   Charles Messier discovered two of the galaxies, M84 and M86, in 1781. The other galaxies seen in the chain were discovered by William Herschel. A Soviet astrophysicist, Benjamin Markarian, who discovered their common motion in the early 1960s.
   At least seven galaxies in the chain appear to move coherently,
   Total acquisition time 4 hours, with Sony A7Rv and Sony 200 600.
