Title: Best tripod for product photography

Can anyone recommend a good tripod for product photography? Something stable but lightweight?

I would say that rather than the tripod, the camera mount, i.e. the ballhead or the pan-tilt head is more important. You are not taking it outside, you will mainly do it indoor. So any lightweight tripod will be sufficient. But you should check that after you fix the camera to a particular point, it should not creep.

Are you going to do macro photography like jewelry or what? If it's shiny surface, then totally a different case :-) The shiny surface will show your camera setup when zoomed in. They will act as mirrors! So you may need to use white tents and special light setup.
