Leica wil be producing now and will be available brand new on b&h and other places like amazon and leica store July 2026 onwards
Well, there has been this rumour about Leica producing those batteries for sometime now. Let's see.

Hear you. Hope it does happen. A frend has just offered me his leica m240 for 1.5 lac. great condition with one battery but im hesitant on jumping on to it as it comes with only one battery and I would easily need a couple of more to get through the day.

From what I have experienced, unless you are using the live view a lot of maybe video recording, the battery easily lasts more than a day. I have never faced battery issues till date. The battery really lasts very long. I just wanted a back up for those rare occasions.

I got a similar response from Leica support that they are actively working on fixing the supply issue, they didn't share any specific details. Its good to hear that supply is expected in couple of months.

M240 battery is big and lasts very long. I dont use liveview and dont do picture playback very often. With that the battery last really long. Only reason i want to have second one is for back up. O e should be more than enough for a day's shoot. There is no Autofocus, no evf to drain the battery.

I use it with the Olympus EVF.... even then the battery is more than sufficient.
