I have a Fujifilm XT-30 that does not take photos when I press the shutter button. Turing the camera on off still works. I have no native fuji lens with me to test touch shutter (use touchscreen to take photo). With the app I'm able to take image.

What would be the cost to repair/replace shutter button? Online forums suggest very high price as for most they changed to entire top plate. Anyone who dealt with similar issue please share your thoughts.

Sometimes a "reset to factory default" works. Have you tried it?

Don't see any mention of this in the link but tried regardless. Didn't solve the issue.

It looks like fuji does not show any warning that it will not take a shot if a lens without CPU contacts is attached. You need to change this option in settings. No idea how that changed...  :-\

Sony doesn't allow no-lens snaps. That default needs to be changed for fully-manual contactless  lenses. (The weird thing is it allows shots with no memory card. Which is just stupid, as a shot without a memory card isn't a shot at all).

This is the sort of thing that one sets on day one, and forgets on day two, of owning the camera. Very frustrating that it somehow got changed.

It's simply bad UX design from the manufacturer. Even the Nikon D3300 warns that it will not take a picture if no lens is attached and that you need to shoot in manual mode for this situation.

I agree!

I will check if there is any error message on my Sony a6500. Even if there is, their messages can be very uninformative!

I am using my first Fuji mirrorless (I had a bridge HS20 earlier), and the UX is bad. I am coming from RX100 IV, and while I understood why Sony's menu annoys people, I'd say it was better than Fuji's  :-X
