I purchased Nikon 50mm f1.4D lens from Parampreet - http://www.jjmehta.com/forum/index.php/topic,30632.0.html.

Since he is a newbee with only 4 posts in his credit and no buy/sell history, I did some google search in his name, and found that he is working in IT industry and could also see his picture. That built up my confidence and I went ahead.

The lens is just like new, with 2 years of Nikon warranty. It came with all the accessories and paper works. Packing was great and hence everything went very smooth.

He is highly recommended in the buy-sell activities.

Thanks Parampreet.

Not strictly about buy/sell - met Aditya Ecka and friend last Friday, and had a great time gossiping about cameras and photography :)

Thanks to both!

Hey Nirmalya,

Congrats on your purchase.. and as you mentioned...

"Since he is a newbee with only 4 posts in his credit and no buy/sell history, I did some google search in his name, and found that he is working in IT industry and could also see his picture. what a way to buy lens from a fellow member... trust me i shouldn't have sold my stuff to you atleast.

I really feel insulted the way it is been mentioned here. In forum we have that much of trust while buying and selling..

Sorry to say this but couldn't control myself...

Your anger may be justified Alok. However, there had been very nasty and painful experiences some forum members had with sellers who are new and virtually unknown. There had been instances of sellers sending out bad products in the pretext of 'Mint Condition' and never respond. When you are interacting in a virtual world, 'TRUST' becomes even more fragile and it needs other ways of assurances. If my neighbour who moved in 4 days ago asks for my bike, I would surely have aprehensions. The trust you are refeerring to on a forum or even this forum has to have some basis. One of that is post count. When that doesnt look promising, obviously the buyer would look for other ways. Dont take it personally. Whenever you find time, refer to the 'FROWN' thread and you would know what am talking about.

Positive feedback for two users :

1-Nirmalaya : Bought a 50mm 1.8D from him. Dealing was very smooth..the lens was delivered quickly, with safe packing & very good condition.

2- Rabin M : Bought a used Nikon D90 with Nikon MB-D80 battery grip from him. A straight-forward yet co-operative person to deal with. Both items were packed very well and delivered promptly. For 2+ yrs old items they were in wonderful condition..happy :)

My first long distance purchase: Pentax 80-200 with m4/3 adapter from iamsomnath to feed my G.A.S.

What can I say? He was more eager than me to ship it the same day to beat the coming holidays.

bought my first L series lens from Vivek and words cant describe the lens condition. Its a very well maintained lens and better than the conditions mentioned by Vivek in the thread (http://www.jjmehta.com/forum/index.php/topic,30502.msg303066.html#msg303066). Also Vivek packed it so well it took me ages to take it out. All in all a very pleasant experience.
