This shot was taken a Yamuna Ghat , Delhi when thousands of sea gulls migrate and flock together in large numbers for food during winter season.

If you closely observe the pattern , you will see a systematic pattern where there is a large concentration near the boat and when the feeding frenzy is over , the birds disperse in a similar fashion . Thanks for viewing. C&C welcome.

Very nice indeed. A chaotic fog.

Wonder what this would have looked like with a slow shutter speed. More stillness in the water would have looked good, but then the flying birds would be blurred.

It's an idea to keep in mind for scenes like this.
Looking for a Rokinon/Samyang 135 F/2 Lens in excellent condition.

Also looking for a few Canon NB-10L Batteries.

Some say those of us who love to talk about cameras should instead go and take pictures. I say we should go and also take pictures.

Loved it.
Could you please tell me the experience here?
Do you use a long lens, or get on a boat to get near the spot??

Thanks everybody for your feedback.

Bharat : I have captured a few shots (will post soon) with slow shutter speed. But given that I was also on a boat , it was difficult to avoid shaking of the camera and still manage that motion blur effect of the birds flying.

Chinmay : I was on a vacation to Delhi and had heard a lot about this place . The place is on the banks of River Yamuna (easily accessible via metro / cab / auto) . Once you reach the place , you can either hire a boat on sharing basis (Rs50-Rs100) or can hire the entire boat for yourself for a 30-45 mins ride. Try to reach before sunrise to plan your composition before you get on the boat. The place is pretty popular with photographers and content creators and also frequented by locals. Better to avoid weekends . I was there on a weekday and still could see close to 20-30 guys waiting early morning at 6 am.

Mornings in Delhi are cold and foggy. Infact one could hardly see anything 6 feet away near the river bank. My plan was to capture a few wide angle shots with Tokina 11-16 f2.8 (the one you see in this post) , followed by some closeup of action around the ghat  with 50mm 1.8. Once the sun was bright and shining , I also captured a few silhouettes of long distance boats from the banks using Nikon 70-200 f4.

Any other information required let me know. Do carry a waterproof jacket , gloves and cap....they will get wet very soon due to heavy mist in that place.

This is a truly wonderful picture. Superb subject and composition. Really beautiful.

I'd say that this pic would make any wall look 100% better, and that includes gallery walls!
