Last days of Spring

Thank you so much for setting the scene.

I tend to imagine that, as one moves further North, away from the tropic, and further up in latitude, that the climate becomes more like my temperate mother country, UK. But I forget one big difference: the monsoon!

It must be really different, spring here and spring there. 

You are correct, spring is different for every region. This was shot in Assam in the month of March. After February, there's a gradual change in temperature and there is a brief window for spring time but with the onset of monsoon, it is accompanied by occasional thunderstorms (locals call it Bordoisila). This was shot inside a tea estate on a clear day after a stormy night.

Yes, taking another look, it does not look so much like a temperate-climate spring. I wonder where and when the pic was taken.

Here, there is no such thing at as spring at all. The slightly cooler days of December/January soon ramp up to peak temperatures of April/May. 

Autumn seems to happen on a plant-by-plant basis. Suddenly, one tree will decide to go brown and drop its leaves!

Right.  It must be really different, spring here and spring there.  When I first saw the image, I was puzzled as to how this could be late spring.  The barren trees, the leaves on the ground, and something which might be drying seed pods lingering on the barren limbs...  Maybe color would have given me a clue about it being spring.  Maybe.  Here in Georgia, USA, we are just now getting into spring.  The trees are filling with fresh, light green foliage.  Some trees are still flowering.  It's a wonderful time of year. The cold weather has abated, and we are outdoors more.

Yes, for light b/w is right but for "Last days of spring" withering brown/orange colours of trees, leaves would have been more apt, imho.

While composing this scene, I wanted to focus on the light in the scene. Monochrome excels in such scenarios.
